We support the aged to do the extraordinary everyday.

The Catholic Sisters Elderly Care Network Ghana (CSECNG) was officially founded in 2024 in response to research conducted by Cerra Africa, which revealed the urgent and growing need for comprehensive support for aging and infirm religious sisters in Ghana. Recognizing the profound contributions these Sisters have made to society, 15 congregations came together in unity and compassion to establish a collaborative network dedicated to their care.

We believe in empowering the aged to do the extraordinary every day.

CSECNG exists to ensure the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of religious sisters who have devoted their lives to service. Since its launch nearly two years ago, the Network has rapidly emerged as a vital force in Ghana’s elder care landscape, delivering holistic programs that include:

  • Healthcare assistance tailored to the needs of aging Sisters
  • Training for caregivers to uphold dignity and compassionate care
  • Education and awareness initiatives to foster understanding and advocacy
  • Emotional and spiritual support rooted in faith and community

CSECNG also seeks to build a sustainable system of wellness services, addressing mobility challenges, nutritional needs, and access to medical care—ensuring that no sister is left behind in her later years.

As CSECNG approaches its second anniversary, its inaugural year was marked by key milestones that laid a strong foundation for its mission and growth:

  • Conducted a comprehensive needs assessment to identify core challenges
  • Registered with the Ghana Registrar General as a legal entity
  • Established a governance structure, including a Board of Directors and leadership roles
  • Initiated engagement with congregations, donors, and stakeholders to build long-term financial and collaborative support
  • Facilitated webinars for Sisters across Ghana focused on aging education and awareness

CSECNG is committed to building a Ghana where the dignity, wellness, and legacy of elderly and infirm Sisters are honoured and upheld. Through faith-driven care and collective action, we ensure that these women—who have given so much—are treated with the love, respect, and compassion they so deeply deserve.
