What is CSECNG and why was it formed?
CSECNG stands for the Catholic Sisters Elderly Care Network Ghana. It was founded in 2024 by 15 congregations in response to research by Cerra Africa, which highlighted the growing needs of aging and infirm religious Sisters. The Network exists to ensure that elderly Sisters receive holistic care—physical, emotional, and spiritual—rooted in dignity and compassion.
Who can benefit from CSECNG’s services?
CSECNG serves elderly and infirm Catholic Sisters across Ghana. Any congregation that is part of the Network can access support services, including healthcare, emotional wellness programs, caregiver training, and spiritual care initiatives.
What kind of healthcare support does CSECNG provide?
We provide access to medications, healthcare supplies, and preventive health screenings. We also train caregivers and congregational leaders in eldercare best practices such as nutrition management, emotional support, and proper use of medical devices.
How does CSECNG support emotional and spiritual well-being?
Through psycho-spiritual programs that include counseling, group therapy, and social engagement. We also integrate prayer, reflection, and pastoral care into our wellness initiatives to ensure Sisters feel spiritually nourished and emotionally supported.
Is there financial support available for medical expenses?
Yes. CSECNG is establishing a Sustainable Insurance Fund to help congregations manage major medical costs for elderly Sisters. This initiative is designed to reduce financial strain and promote long-term care planning.
How can our congregation join or participate in CSECNG?
Congregations can join by expressing interest to the Project Manager and participating in Network activities. Once registered, they can access programs, , and collaborate on eldercare initiatives.
Are the webinars free to attend?
Yes, our webinars are offered free of charge for now. They are part of CSECNG’s mission to educate, empower, and equip congregations with best practices in the care of elderly and infirm Sisters. We believe that knowledge-sharing should be accessible to all, especially when it supports compassionate, faith-centered eldercare.
